Launch of SQE Preparatory courses

Law Training Centre announces launch of SQE preparatory courses with prices for alumni starting from £2,190

Law Training Centre has today announced its courses to prepare students for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). Students can now register to be the first to receive further course information and an enrolment form.

The long awaited SQE is a significant change to the way that individuals will qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales. Not only does it ensure a common standard against which all new solicitors will ultimately be assessed; it also makes a career in law more accessible for those who may previously have been excluded due to their personal circumstances.

Law Training Centre has long been an advocate for students looking for alternative pathways into the legal profession. They were the first provider to be accredited by all the leading awarding bodies for lawyer qualifications in the UK. All courses blend online tools and comprehensive learning materials with responsive tutor support, to remove any challenges from online learning and to ensure that students have all the tools and support needed to help them achieve their goals.

Offering one of the most comprehensive packages of support available to all students, Law Training Centre’s SQE1 preparatory course starts from as little as £2,190 for current and former students. For those that have studied elsewhere, discounts are also available for recognised prior learning. For students that have CILEx, CLC, NALP, LPC qualifications as well as a range of degrees or equivalent qualifications, a discount of £150 is available from the introductory price of £2,440, meaning courses are available for just £2,290. The option to pay by instalments will also be available.

Dino Dullabh, Co-Founder and Director at Law Training Centre commented “The premise of the introduction of the SQE was to ensure a common standard for qualifications for those wanting to qualify as a solicitor. Whilst this route may not be right for everyone, we firmly believe the SQE is a significant step forward in helping to break down barriers to accessing the legal profession – something that has been at the heart of our mission since our very first law courses began”.

Virtual learning platform supported by full induction, research and soft skills – As an online training provider, Law Training Centre understands the importance of a virtual learning platform. Law Training Centre’s virtual learning platform will be key to accessing many of the resources offered through the SQE preparatory course and will include induction foundation modules, along with the support, online resources and all the additional tools learners will need to be successful in their SQE studies. Whether learners need to refresh their skills around using the online law library, preparing for assessments or legal research skills, Law Training Centre’s virtual learning platform will help learners to develop these skills.

Studying with Law Training Centre will not only prepare students for the SQE1 assessment but also start to work on developing those legal skills required in readiness for SQE2.

Workshops – The ‘live’ workshops will run twice a month. Law Training Centre will provide a schedule for the workshops so that students can keep track of which sessions they wish to attend. Law Training Centre understands that there are going to be different types of learner undertaking the SQE 1. For that reason, our approach here is flexible enough to enable our learner to remain in control of the pace of their SQE 1 preparation.

These workshops will cover various aspects of the SQE 1 syllabus. Learners will be able to attend these workshops live, or access them at a time that suits them through the Law Training Centre video library. The workshops will run throughout the year and students can attend as many sessions as they want or are able to manage. Your tutor will be there to support you in a number of ways including, for example, helping you to manage your study planner, create your CV and to provide careers information as well as supporting you in coping with the pressures of your studies to help maintain your well-being.

Mock Question/MCT’s – Law Training Centre will provide you with opportunities to practice MCT’s with a mock paper for each unit. We recognise that understanding technique is just as important as content. You will find that the workshops also support the MCT’s and your approach to preparing for them.

This guarantees students’ course access and support for one additional attempt, should they need it. Dino continued “We believe that whatever an individual’s background or personal circumstances, if they work hard and have the aptitude to succeed in law, they should be given accessible opportunities to do so. Many of the students registering an interest in our SQE courses are already working within the law; many also have family commitments that make the flexibility offered by the new SQE exam and our fully online, responsive learning and tutor support, the ideal route to become a Solicitor.”
