Law Training Centre understands that finding the opportunity to discuss your career progression can often be difficult and perhaps daunting, and it may be hard to approach especially during busy periods at work. However, asking your employer for support with training is a great way to show your commitment to your role and your aspiration for improvement and growth within the business.

We have helped a vast amount of employees and employers over the years to overcome their individual scenarios and we are happy to support you with any specific questions you may have. We have an experienced team to guide you through your personal business case proposal. Please reach out to us at [email protected].

To help you approach the subject, we’ve designed a CLC Career Progression Business Plan template and accompanying guide to cover the key areas an employer would expect to see when considering supporting you with your studies.

Once you have identified the modules/diplomas you will need to study, use our template to help you gain financial support from your employer towards your qualification. Simply download the document below, fill in the relevant information and present it to your Manager / HR Manager / Training Manager.

“If you follow the guide and complete the template in line with our advice, you will have a strong business case that would impress any employer.” – Diane Clark, Legal Talent Development Manager

Why should I ask for support from my employer?

More than 6 out of 10 of all Law Training Centre CLC learners are sponsored by their law firm. Gaining financial support from your employer is frequently practiced within businesses.

Of the hundreds of employers we work with, we know that for property and probate (private client) lawyers, CLC is a preferred route with it being the lowest cost, fastest and most flexible route to qualify, with clear guidance on what constitutes practical work experience.

Law Training Centre has been able to support over 2,000 conveyancing and probate professionals so far. You can be sure your employer will tangibly benefit from supporting you – our fully flexible, online and tutor supported approach designed for busy professionals helps our learners excel with a 75% pass rate on their first assessment attempt.

What we really like about this is the ability to do everything online...the tutor support has been really good as well. So they've always got contact with online tutors, people available that they can talk to, just to help them and see how they're getting on.

It's worth us investing the time and money in the staff to make them better at what they do. Ultimately, they provide a much better service to their clients because they have a much wider knowledge base.

Richard Durrant, Partner and Head of Conveyancing at Boys & Maughan

Online learning is a perfect solution for our trainees as it proves that flexibility is crucial when they are working at the same time as studying.
