SQE1+2 Complete Prep

The SQE1+2 Complete Prep for Law Graduates provides up to 60 weeks course access to enable you to prepare for consecutive SQE1 and SQE2 exam sittings.

The latest annual report from the SRA highlights that the pass rate for those who sat the SQE1 in January 2023 and then the SQE2 in April 2023 was higher than the overall pass rate for that SQE2 assessment sitting. This course supports those findings.

The table below outlines the intended assessment sitting dates and course expiry depending on the enrolment dates.

**This is the recommended SQE2 exam sitting however the April 2025 and July 2025 exam sittings are within your course access should you pass the SQE1 in January 2025.

The SQE1+2 Complete Prep for LPC Graduates provides up to 26 weeks course access to prepare for your chosen SQE2 exam sitting.

The latest annual report from the SRA identified that the overall pass rate for the SQE2 for candidates who had taken the SQE1 was higher than those who did not take the SQE1 due to a transitional arrangement. This course supports those findings.

• Induction: On demand induction presentation providing an overview of the course, resources and support. Followed by a 1-2-1 or group induction with your personal academic coach.
• Study planner: An editable study planner to plan your study with start and completion dates.

To help you get started on the SQE you are provided with foundation content dealing with:

• An introduction to law: Providing an insight into the role and purpose of the law.
• Components of the SQE: Direction on the requirements for each assessment, guidance on QWE and Law Training Centre’s QWE training record.
• Study skills and preparation for assessment: To help you get started, guidance is provided on study skills, methods and what to do before, during and after the assessment.
• Ethics and Professional conduct: Ethics and professional conduct are examined across all subject areas in the SQE assessments.

• Recorded lectures: Recorded lectures providing an introduction to and summary of each of the topics to be studied.
• E-learning materials / course notes: The core learning content for each topic is provided in an engaging and interactive way through our e-learning application, and available as downloadable course notes.
• Lexis+ UK subscription: To allow for additional reading where required to assist in your depth of understanding.

• Self-test questions: Over 2000 short answer self-test questions designed to assess understanding and recollection of the learning content and identify areas to revisit. Available to complete and repeat at any time with suggested answers provided.
• Multiple choice questions (MCQs): Over 1500 MCQs designed to test your functioning legal knowledge in the areas of law and practice and provide practice at the MCQ form of assessment. Answers are automated with the correct answers and explanations provided.
• SQE2 practice questions: Self-assessed questions for SQE2 Skills practice across the SQE2 Oral and SQE2 Written Skills across each practice area. Each set of practice questions also includes self-test questions to test FLK across each of the scenarios considered.

SQE1 (FLK content)

• Mock questions: Over 1000 mock questions are designed in the form of SQE1 assessment style multiple choice questions, requiring a single best answer response. The mock questions, in comparison to the MCQs are more complex, drawing on a number of areas of knowledge of law and practice in order to meet the assessment objectives of the SQE1 assessment specification.
• The mock questions feature in the following ways:
  • Subject area mock questions: Over 350 mock questions across the subject areas designed to test your understanding and application after each subject studied before moving to the next.
  • Recorded workshops: A library of over 150 revision workshops featuring over 500 mock questions across the FLK1 and FLK2 subject areas available to review on demand at any time.  With an explanation of each answer and the approach to take to identify the best answer, the workshops provide both a revision opportunity and guidance on MCQ exam technique.
  • Weekly live workshops: New mock questions in the weekly live FLK1 and FLK2 workshops enabling real time practice with tutor support and guidance (recorded for anytime access).
  • Timed mock assessments: An FLK1 and FLK2 timed mock assessment each consisting of 90 questions to best represent the number of questions that you would be expected to answer in one sitting. Once submitted the answers are revealed, with an explanation of the correct answer to assist in any additional revision to be undertaken.

SQE2 

• Case study questions: Self-assessed questions for SQE2 Skills practice across the SQE2 Oral and SQE2 Written skills through case studies across each practice area.  Each case study contains practice questions in the form of the skills to be assessed across the SQE2 assessment and also includes self-test questions to test FLK across each of the scenarios considered.
• 28 timed mock assessments with personalised oral and written feedback: Timed mock assessment reviewed and marked by our expert tutor team in line with the SQE2 assessment criteria.

Learners can also obtain Lexis+ certification for both Legal Research and Practical Guidance, nationally recognised by law firms and demonstrates expertise to future employers. Access will be provided to Lexis+ UK during the period of the course up to the completion of the final assessment.

• Lexis+ UK Legal Research Certification: There are two levels, Foundation and Advanced. The Legal Research foundation certification tests your ability to research legal material and your familiarity with the Legal Research module on Lexis+ UK. The Legal Research advanced certification tests your ability to confidently complete a high level of legal research on the Lexis+ platform. It also asks you some scenario-based questions to give you a flavour of the type of work you can expect when conducting legal research in practice.
• Lexis+ UK Practice Guidance Certification: The Practical Guidance certification tests your ability to research and apply legal material and your familiarity with the Practical Guidance module on Lexis+. Used by lawyers in practice, understanding how to use Practical Guidance will give you a head start in your vacation schemes, work experience or pro bono work

• FLK checklists: The downloadable FLK checklists are designed to assist in tracking your study of the functioning legal knowledge (FLK) in this subject area in accordance with the SQE1 assessment specification.
• Study planning: A downloadable calendar, course overview and a range of study planner options to successfully plan and track your progress. Your personal academic coach will also assist you in creating a study plan based on your personal and professional circumstances.
• Exam preparation kit: Our Exam Preparation kit includes templates for: Subject checklists, Study sessions, Exam preparation overview, Key cases, Key definitions, Study review, Study to do list, Daily study planner, Weekly study planner and Monthly Overview.  Each is available as an editable version or to print.

The Passplus guarantee is up to combined maximum period of 60 weeks.

To qualify for Passplus you must have completed 90% of the course content before undertaking the relevant assessment (excluding attendance at weekly FLK1 and FLK2 live workshops).

• Flexible start dates: We know that our learners need flexibility for course dates to fit around their work and life commitments. This is why we always have an SQE1 Preparation course available for enrolment. The on-demand course materials and Video Library of previous workshops means that, no matter when you start, you will have access to the content and can move through the course at the pace that suits you.
• E-learning: ‘Read aloud’ function within the e-learning content enables the text to be converted to audio. The e-learning is split into topics to allow a bitesize approach to study where required with the resource tracking progress to allow a continuation.
• Lectures: Lectures are available with sub-titles and can be listened to again at any time.
• Downloadable content: The course notes which make up the e-learning content and lecture slides used are downloadable.
• Course progress tracking: The ability to track your progress throughout the course by marking areas that have been completed so show your percentage completion.
• Course design: The course split into subjects and topics divided in line with the SQE1 assessment specification allowing for ease of navigation and preparation for assessments.
• Workshops: Workshops can be attended live and/or the recording viewed to assist with commitments and accessibility. Learners are encouraged to engage within workshops but there is no expectation or requirement.

• Invoicing:
  We will issue your invoice according to your chosen option – either self–sponsored or firm-sponsored. If you are paying by instalments, a separate Direct Debit mandate email will be sent out for you to complete online, you will need to set up both the Direct Debit and complete the initial payment. Once the invoice has been paid (or the Direct Debit set up if applicable) please notify us by return email.
• Payment options:
  You can pay by bank transfer to our account or by card using the payment link on your invoice. Cheques are accepted and your course login will be made live once the cheque has cleared into our bank account.
• Course Login:
  Once we have processed your payment and the 14-day cooling-off period has passed or has been waived, please allow up to 2 working days from the invoice being paid to being emailed your course login.
