We’re delighted to announce that Law Training Centre has been selected to receive assessment funding under the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s (SRA) SQE Access and Reinvestment Fund!
The SRA is using this fund to support schemes that help aspiring solicitors who face significant personal barriers to qualify. The fund has been allocated to selected training providers and will be used to pay the assessment fees of selected candidates.
Law Training Centre SQE learners can now apply for assessment funding via our SQE Exam Fund Scholarship.
This is a significant milestone for us and for our learners. As an established SQE training provider, being selected by the SRA to help distribute this funding allows us to continue widening participation in law and help aspiring solicitors from all backgrounds to achieve their goals.
What is the SQE Exam Fund Scholarship?
The SRA’s SQE Access and Reinvestment Fund scheme has been designed to support aspiring solicitors facing significant barriers to qualify by reducing examination costs.
As a selected training provider, the funds allocated to Law Training Centre will be used in line with our Access To Law programme via the SQE Exam Fund Scholarship.
This scholarship will enable learners on Law Training Centre’s SQE preparation courses to apply for SQE assessment funding. The SQE Exam Fund Scholarship is open to all SQE learners: including those who have previously been granted a scholarship for their SQE preparation course and those who have not.
Funding is available through this scheme for both SQE1 and SQE2 assessments, and will be granted to up to 10 successful applicants.
How do I apply?
To be eligible to apply you must meet all of the following criteria:
- You are self-funding the SQE assessment
- You have no/limited access to other means of paying for the SQE assessment (including access to familial loans or financial gifts, access to savings, access to loans)
- You are enrolled on an SQE preparation course with Law Training Centre
- You are on track to successfully complete the SQE preparation course in advance of the assessment
- You are committed to booking the assessment and completing the assessment in the designated assessment window identified on your application
- You have exceptional personal circumstances leading to the necessity for financial support
- You are not already qualified as a lawyer in another jurisdiction
If you are eligible, you will need to download the SQE Exam Fund Scholarship application form here, and return the completed document to [email protected].
We are currently accepting applications for those who plan to take the SQE1 or SQE2 assessment in January 2026. We cannot guarantee that funding will be available for subsequent SQE1 or SQE2 assessment sittings.
We encourage applicants to submit their forms to be considered in advance of the SQE assessment booking windows opening. Applications submitted to us within 10 working days of the relevant assessment window closing will not be accepted.
Continuing to support our learners
We are incredibly proud to be playing a part in this important initiative and grateful to the SRA for their trust in us. More than anything, we’re excited to see the impact this funding will have on the careers and futures of our SQE learners.
If you’ve ever dreamed of becoming a solicitor but felt that the cost was out of reach, this could be your moment!
Law Training Centre also continues to support access to legal education through other initiatives alongside this SQE funding. If you are looking for support with SQE preparation funding, why not consider applying for our Access To Law SQE Prep Scholarship or our Open To All Scholarship?
Let’s work together to break down the barriers to qualification.
