Levi’s interest in law was sparked at a young age, inspired by the film ‘Legally Blonde’. Despite the difference between American and British law, the film motivated her to explore the field. She began her formal education in law at college, where she studied it as an A-level subject before progressing to university.
However, university lectures did not suit Levi’s learning style, leading her to leave after a year. She then joined a law firm as a trainee legal executive while studying with CILEX (the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives). It was during this period that Levi realised her passion for conveyancing and decided to switch her focus.
“It became quite clear to me whilst I was studying CILEX that conveyancing was going to be the area that I wish to specialise in in the future. So I got quite far in my CILEX studies but then decided that I would switch over to study the CLC [Council for Licensed Conveyancers] so that I could specialise in conveyancing.”
Levi learned about Law Training Centre through her college, which recommended us as the best option for pursuing CLC studies. She faced challenges in understanding her exemptions when transitioning from CILEX to CLC, but a single email to the Law Training Centre Student Services Team clarified everything. This support allowed her to enter directly at Level 6, leveraging her previous qualifications.

One of the significant advantages Levi found when studying with Law Training Centre was the flexibility of online learning. This approach allowed her to work full-time and manage childcare responsibilities simultaneously. “Flexible online working has made my life a lot easier as I’ve been able to fit it around working full time,” Levi explains. She appreciated not having to incur university debt and being able to study at her own pace.
Levi found the portal provided particularly useful. It broke down the course material into manageable sections, with quizzes at the end of each section to ensure comprehension. The ability to contact tutors easily for any queries added to the effectiveness of her study experience.
Completing the CLC course quickly was a priority for Levi, driven by her eagerness to start her fee-earning career. The online flexibility enabled her to progress faster than the recommended pace.
She now works as a qualified licensed conveyancer, managing her own caseload at Cooke Painter Solicitors. Her specialisation includes buying and selling houses, remortgages, Help to Buy ISAs and property transfers. Her family, none of whom had attended university before her, were incredibly proud when she pursued her qualification, marking a significant milestone. Levi aims to become a director of a law firm and hopes to dual-qualify as a probate practitioner in the future, further expanding her services to clients.
Levi was one of the first in her small high street firm to study through online training and her success has inspired others in her firm to pursue their studies with Law Training Centre. She encourages current learners to take the course at their own pace, emphasising the importance of breaking it down into manageable sections and seeking tutor support when needed.
