How to fund your legal studies with Law Training Centre

Is finance the final hurdle to you pursuing your dream legal career? We know that making the decision to invest in your education, whilst worthwhile, can be daunting. However, there are more options available to help than you may realise! Find out more about how to fund your legal studies.

Investment in education is never a waste of time or money, particularly within the competitive legal sector – where continual professional development sets you apart from the crowd and qualifications can be truly life-changing. Whilst Law Training Centre’s flexible courses are more affordable and accessible than more traditional routes to qualification, we recognise that having to fund your legal studies can still leave you feeling unable to pursue your goals.

With this in mind, we have ensured there are a wide range of funding options available to help all learners, no matter their personal circumstance or background, access the education they deserve.

1. Interest free instalment options

Almost all of Law Training Centre’s courses offer the option to spread the cost of your learning out over monthly interest free instalments. Law Training Centre have ensured the following monthly payments are kept as affordable as possible – from as little as £48.75/month. This helps learners who may struggle to pay for their course in one lump sum, and is a very popular choice when it comes to making sure your learning is compatible with your wider monthly budget.

2. Sponsorship by an employer

Did you know that your employer can fund your Law Training Centre learning by sponsoring you? With most firms and businesses having a budget allocated specifically for training, it is worth discussing with your employer your interest in furthering your knowledge and developing their skills and seeing how they may be able to help. There are also numerous benefits to organisations that support their staff in this manner – you can find out more here.

3. Access to Law SQE Scholarship

At Law Training Centre we are avid supporters and advocates of social mobility and increased diversity within the legal profession. We created the Access to Law SQE Scholarship to support future legal professionals from all backgrounds, who would have otherwise been unable to study law and fulfil their dream of becoming a Solicitor.

The Access to Law SQE Scholarship offers Law Training Centre SQE1 Prep learners the opportunity to have 50% of their SQE1 Prep tuition fees funded by the Scholarship, saving learners £1,000. SQE2 Prep learners are also able to apply for an Access to Law SQE Scholarship of £1,000 towards their SQE2 Prep tuition fees.

4. Lendwise

Law Training Centre has a partnership with Lendwise to help you fund both your course fees as well as the cost of your exam/s. Lendwise is a student loan provider through which candidates can fund their postgraduate and professional qualification studies and exam fees.

A Lendwise loan comes with a fixed interest rate for the duration of the loan and no early repayment penalties. The minimum loan amount is £2,000, and the interest rate offered will depend on the overall applicant profile and the application process is entirely online.

You can also apply if you are a recipient of Law Training Centre’s Access to Law SQE Scholarship, as the addition of your exam fees will mean you meet the minimum loan amount.

Once you submit an application on Lendwise’s website, Lendwise will inform you whether you have been provisionally approved for a loan. You will then be asked to provide some relevant documentation to complete the process of the approval of your loan. Your course fees will then be funded directly to us as your training provider, and to the relevant body if including associated exam fees.

Please contact Lendwise directly to apply for your loan.
