IAA Level 1 Training Course

• Induction: On demand induction presentation providing an overview of the course, resources and support. Followed by a 1-2-1 or group induction with your personal academic coach.
• Study planner: An editable study planner to plan your study with start and completion dates.

• Recorded lectures:Recorded lectures providing an introduction to and summary of each of the topics to be studied.

• E-learning materials: The core learning content for each topic is provided in an engaging and interactive way through our e-learning application.
• Factsheets: To assist in understanding of content.
• Lexis+ UK subscription: To allow for additional reading where required to assist in your depth of understanding.

• Self-test questions: Short answer self-test questions designed to assess understanding and recollection of the learning content. Available to complete and repeat at any time with suggested answers provided.
• Multiple choice questions (MCQs): Designed to test your recollection of questions covered in the lectures and e-learning. Answers are automated with the correct answers and explanations provided.

• Mind maps: To assist with your revision of key concepts.
• Practice questions: The exercises that form part of the session preparation together with any additional exercises that may be introduced will be provided as part of the revision content for you to attempt again and/or review your answers.
• Mock assessments: Mock assessments give learners a safe, structured way to practise their skills, build confidence, and understand assessment expectations before completing the final IAA Level 1 qualification.

• A Law Training Centre certificate of completion issued once all elements of the course are completed within the course access period.

• Lexis+ UK Subscription: Lexis+ UK is leading research platform from LexisNexis.  Lexis+ UK provides the largest collection of UK law, up-to-date legislation, case law, commentary and comprehensive practical guidance.  Access will be provided to Lexis+ UK during the period of the course access.
• Lexis+ UK Certification: Law Training Centre learners can obtain Lexis+ certification for both Legal Research and Practical Guidance, nationally recognised by law firms and demonstrates expertise to future employers.

• Study planning: A downloadable calendar, course overview and a range of study planner options to successfully plan and track your progress. Your personal academic coach will also assist you in creating a study plan based on your personal and professional circumstances.
• Exam preparation kit: Our Exam Preparation kit includes templates for: Subject checklists, Study sessions, Exam preparation overview, Key cases, Key definitions, Study review, Study to do list, Daily study planner, Weekly study planner and Monthly Overview.  Each is available as an editable version or to print.

• On demand content: All content is available at any time.
• Flexible start dates: We know that our learners need flexibility for course dates to fit around their work and life commitments. The on-demand course materials means that, no matter when you start, you will have access to the content and can move through the course at the pace that suits you.
• E-learning: ‘Read aloud’ function within the e-learning content enables the text to be converted to audio. The e-learning is split into topics to allow a bitesize approach to study where required with the resource tracking progress to allow a continuation.
• Lectures: Lectures are available with sub-titles and can be listened to again at any time.
• Course progress tracking: The ability to track your progress throughout the course by marking areas that have been completed so show your percentage completion.
• Course design: The course split into subjects and topics divided in line with the SQE1 assessment specification allowing for ease of navigation and preparation for assessments.

Minimum hardware requirements:

• Computer / laptop / Google Chromebook / Apple MacBook
• Keyboard and a mouse or another pointing device
• Broadband connection with 10 Mbps average speed
• An Ethernet cable for maintaining internet stability
• Working microphone, either internal or external
• Webcam with 320 x 240 VGA resolution, either internal or external

Once received, your enrolment will be processed by our Student Services Team. If there are any queries at this stage, we will contact you.

• Invoicing:
  We will issue your invoice according to your chosen option – either self–sponsored or firm-sponsored. If you are paying by instalments, a separate Direct Debit mandate email will be sent out for you to complete online, you will need to set up both the Direct Debit and complete the initial payment. Once the invoice has been paid (or the Direct Debit set up if applicable) please notify us by return email.
• Payment options:
  You can pay by bank transfer to our account or by card using the payment link on your invoice. Cheques are accepted and your course login will be made live once the cheque has cleared into our bank account.
• Course Login:
  Once we have processed your payment and the 14-day cooling-off period has passed or has been waived, please allow up to 2 working days from the invoice being paid to being emailed your course login.
