Law Training Centre created the Access to Law SQE Scholarship in order to support future legal professionals from all backgrounds, who would have otherwise been unable to study law. Law Training Centre was founded on a passion to break down barriers to a legal career. We continue to help individual learners find cost-effective pathways to qualify in law in a way that works for them; with online courses specifically designed to make it possible for learners from any background to qualify via flexible, alternative pathways that best suit their personal goals.
Whilst our routes to qualification offer a far greater deal of accessibility than traditional routes, we recognise that, for some, the final barrier to pursuing the legal education of their dreams remains the ability to finance their learning. As an organisation that cares deeply about social mobility and increased diversity within the legal profession, we are proud to offer our Access to Law SQE Scholarship.
Through the introduction of the Scholarship, we are demonstrating our commitment to going one step further in widening access to education and careers within law and helping to create a legal market that is diverse, flexible, multi-skilled, and reflective of current market demands.
What is the Access to Law SQE Scholarship?
Our Access to Law Scholarship is available to both SQE1 Prep and/or SQE2 Prep with Law Training Centre. Both of these comprehensive, fully flexible self-paced courses are delivered by legal expert tutors, who use their exceptional wealth of academic and practical experience to help equip learners with the legal knowledge and applied legal skills they need to succeed on their journey to become a qualified Solicitor of England and Wales.
The Access to Law SQE Scholarship offers Law Training Centre learners the opportunity to have:
- For SQE1 Prep:
- 50% of their SQE1 Prep tuition fees funded by the Scholarship
- For SQE2 Prep:
- £1,000 towards their SQE2 Prep tuition fees.
- Please note, Scholarship funding is not available in conjunction with alumni concession
Who is the Scholarship for?
Our Access to Law Scholarship is open for applications from learners looking to study SQE1 Prep and/or SQE2 Prep with Law Training Centre.
To be successful, applicants need to meet at least ONE of the following criteria:
- Identify as part of a demographic/group that are under-represented within the legal profession;
- Be from a socially disadvantaged background;
- Have protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010;
- Are unable to physically attend full-time education due to personal, professional, financial, or health challenges;
- Have experienced unexpected hardship due to the effects of Covid-19.
How do I apply?
Applicants simply need to complete an application form and return it to: [email protected]. Applications will then be assessed in the order that they are received, and the result of your application will be emailed back to you within 10 working days of submission.
