SQE1 Express is a fast-track course aimed at preparing experienced learners for their SQE1 assessments.

Our fully online SQE1 Express Course offers access to the same comprehensive learning materials and revision resources as our SQE1 Full Prep Course. Learners have 9 months of course access to take themselves through the course, enhance their existing legal knowledge, and top up on the areas they are less familiar with.

Learners receive 9 months course access with our SQE1 Express Course to provide a top up to existing legal knowledge and to prepare for the SQE1 assessments.

Flexible start date

We know that our learners need flexibility for course dates to fit around their work and life commitments. This is why you can enrol at any time. The on-demand course materials and Video Library of previous workshops means that, no matter when you start, you will have access to the content and can move through the course at the pace that suits you.

E-learning materials/course notes

Course notes for each topic within the subject areas provided on SQE1 Express contain the core learning content for the areas of law and practice set out in the SQE1 assessment specification. These are provided in an engaging and interactive way through our e-learning application.

Recorded lectures

Recorded lectures within each topic within the subject areas provided on SQE1 Express are accompanied by the lecture slides on which the narration is based. The lectures build on the content with the e-learning material and can be accessed on demand.

Self-test questions

Over 2000 self-test questions across the FLK1 and FLK2 subjects.

Self-test questions are designed to assess your understanding and recollection of the learning content provided. Answering specific questions about the study materials assist with recall and help you to identify any areas you need to revisit. The questions are fully automated on our virtual learning environment allowing you to attempt the questions and review the suggested answers provided at any time.

Subject MCQs

Multiple choice questions (MCQs) for each individual subject area provided on SQE1 Express are designed to test your functioning legal knowledge in the areas of law and practice outlined in the SQE1 assessment specification.

Revision resources

A revision checklist for each subject area provided on SQE1 Express to assist you in tracking your revision of the functioning legal knowledge (FLK) in accordance with the SQE1 assessment specification. Additional revision resources include case summaries, flashcards and practice questions.

Workshop library

Access to a video library of workshops covering SQE1 key topics, applying knowledge and understanding to scenarios, recent cases and mock questions.

FLK1 and FLK2 mock assessments

SQE1 assessment style multiple choice questions, requiring a single best answer response in a timed setting. Each timed mock assessment consists of 90 questions to best represent the number of questions that you would be expected to answer in one sitting. Once submitted the answers are revealed, with an explanation of the correct answer together with the related assessment specification information so that you can identify the subject and area of knowledge relevant to the question to assist in any additional revision to be undertaken.

In addition to the timed mock assessments, mock questions are also built into the course materials and workshops to develop your understanding of the application of law and to enhance the skill of answering multiple choice questions.

We recommend SQE1 Express Course learners have completed some form of prior legal qualification, for example an LLB (law degree), CILEx Level 6, or similar. You can contact our friendly student support team to discuss whether the SQE1 Express Course is the right pathway for you.

What will I learn?

SQE1 Express Course by Law Training Centre covers all areas within the SQE1 assessment.

How long does it take?

With a 9 month access period you can study at your own pace and decide when you wish to book and sit the SQE exam. You have the flexibility to decide on the exam sitting date that will be best for you, whilst also considering the registration window ahead of the exam.

Other SQE1 course options

If on completion of your SQE1 Express Course you find you require further SQE support, you can upgrade to our SQE1 Full Prep Course with Law Training Centre by simply paying an additional fee. Contact our team to discuss your options.

Law Training Centre accepts PayPal as a payment option. A link to PayPal will be provided on your invoice when you sign up for a course. PayPal is a secure card processor and allows you to use your debit or credit card to pay, you do not need to have a PayPal account to use this service.

What will I need before I get started?

To study your online course, you will need the following:

Computer / laptop / Google Chromebook / Apple MacBook
Keyboard and a mouse or another pointing device
Broadband connection with 10 Mbps average speed
An Ethernet cable for maintaining internet stability
Working microphone, either internal or external
Webcam with 320 x 240 VGA resolution, either internal or external

How do I enrol?

The Law Training Centre accepts applications throughout the year so that learners can start when it suits them most.

You can complete our SQE1 enrolment form here.

To ensure your enrolment is processed as quickly as possible, please make sure that you read the form carefully, and fill out all the required boxes. If you need any help or have questions, please contact us on 0330 088 8495 or [email protected]

What happens after I send my enrolment form?

Once received, your enrolment will be processed by our Student Services Team. If there are any queries at this stage, we will contact you.

Invoicing:
We will issue your invoice according to your chosen option – either self–sponsored or firm-sponsored. If you are paying by instalments, a separate Direct Debit mandate email will be sent out for you to complete online, you will need to set up both the Direct Debit and complete the initial payment. Once the invoice has been paid (or the Direct Debit set up if applicable) please notify us by return email.
Payment options:
You can pay by bank transfer to our account or by card using the payment link on your invoice. Cheques are accepted and your course login will be made live once the cheque has cleared into our bank account.
Course Login:
Once we have processed your payment and the 14-day cooling-off period has passed or has been waived, please allow up to 2 working days from the invoice being paid to being emailed your course login.
