Frank Blay — building the skills to succeed in immigration law

When Frank arrived in the UK in 2021 on a scholarship, he had a vision: to make a difference in the lives of those struggling with immigration issues. Seeing the challenges faced by foreign nationals inspired him to pursue a career in immigration law, and for Frank, finding the right training provider was crucial.

“I wanted an institution that is highly respected and has a good reputation,” Frank explains. A recommendation led him to Law Training Centre, and after researching, he knew it was the right place to begin his journey into law with the IAA Level 1 Training Course, allowing him to qualify as an immigration adviser.

For Frank, studying at Law Training Centre provided more than just legal knowledge – it boosted his confidence and gave him direction. The structured learning approach, combined with expert tutors, made the transition into legal studies smooth.

My tutor was brilliant - she made everything easy to understand. Even if you don't have a legal background, she breaks things down so well that you naturally develop an interest in law.

The course materials also played a vital role in Frank’s success. He praises Law Training Centre for its well-structured resources, designed to help students grasp complex legal concepts with ease. “The materials were designed in a way that summarised everything. It really helped me a lot to know what I was studying and what is expected of me when I’m writing the exams.”

Frank highlights the importance of mock assessments in his studies. These practice exercises helped him track his progress and gain confidence in his knowledge. “It really helped a lot because when I was doing my assessment I was able to answer all the questions correctly.”

With the support of experienced tutors, Frank mastered challenging topics, such as the British Nationality Act: “It was very complicated subject matter, but with her experience she was able to break it down for us. She used drawings to make it very simple and I was able to familiarise myself with the Act.”

Beyond theory, Frank developed essential practical skills. “I can now draft certain letters and attendance notes within a few minutes because of the strategies that our tutor taught us.”

Studying with Law Training Centre has given Frank a clear sense of direction. His advice to anyone considering a career in law? “If you have the ambition to study law, Law Training Centre is the best place for you. They have the best tutors – their tutors are full of experience.”

Frank’s journey is a testament to how the right training and support can shape a successful legal career. As he prepares for his upcoming exams, Frank is more determined than ever to sue his legal knowledge and skills gained through his IAA course to support those in need. Thanks to Law Training Centre, he is well on his way to making a lasting impact in immigration law.
