Carissa Moore – finding confidence and flexibility with a CLC qualification

For Carissa Moore, qualifying as a Licensed Conveyancer represents much more than a career milestone – it’s the culmination of years of hard work, determination, and pursuing a route she once never imagined possible.

“When I was at school, I never, ever imagined that this was the outcome and I would be sitting here now,” she reflects. “I thought the only route was university. And so I am really proud that I’ve taken this route and that I have achieved it because now it does open a lot of doors and opportunities.”

It’s just the most flexible way for the modern day woman who is trying to do it all.

Carissa Moore, CLC learner

Carissa began her journey in conveyancing remarkable early: “I started in conveyancing when I was 16 and I left school. So it was quite daunting at the time. I started as an office junior and then worked my way up gradually from that.”

Today, she is a fee earner managing her own files. For Carissa, the CLC Level 4 and Level 6 qualifications were the next natural steps – a way of formalising the knowledge she had developed over many years.

Carissa chose online study with Law Training Centre because it allowed her to progress on her own terms. “It definitely helped me personally because when I felt it was the right time to start my studies, it was on my own terms…I really felt that this gave me the opportunity to do it at my pace, in my own time, and less pressure too.”

The flexibility made a huge difference: “You don’t have to attend university out of office days. You can do it at your own pace and in your own time around working family life. It just suits everyday life.”

As someone already experienced in conveyancing, Carissa appreciated the clarity of the learning materials, telling us: “Having that qualification and having access to the learning portals and everything that goes with it…it’s just made qualifying so much easier and so much smoother than I think it would have been if I had gone down the traditional route.”

She had heard positive things about Law Training Centre before enrolling – and quickly discovered how true they were. “I knew the Law Training Centre had very good reviews, so I just thought, I’ll give it a go. And I haven’t looked back since. It’s been the best training provider that I could have picked.”

“The support by the tutors has been exceptional,” Carissa told us. “The study materials they give you – breakdowns of what you should be learning, when you should be learning it – the manual is just so clear to follow. Everything has been super clear and makes sure that you’re on the right track.”

Like many learners balancing work and study, Carissa had to navigate challenges throughout her studies, but found having a structured routine helped her through. On tougher days, she leaned on the support around her: “Sometimes you feel like, oh, I can’t do this. But you speak to the tutors who are absolutely lovely, and they do reassure you that you can do it. You’re probably just having a bit of a bad day and just to take a step back and reassess everything and just try again.”

Completing her CLC qualifications has transformed Carissa’s confidence and future career prospects. “The qualification has helped me so much in my career. I feel like this was the next step for me…it just opens a lot more doors.”

Most importantly, gaining her CLC Diplomas affirmed her own belief in her abilities: “It gives you a lot of confidence – you know you’ve done it.”

Carissa’s message to anyone considering the CLC route is simple:

“I would absolutely say 100% do it. Just go for it. This is the best training provider I have come across and everyone who I’ve spoken to that have used Law Training Centre have said how brilliant it’s been. The support, the materials – everything.”
